1. Where is Calisthenics Buderim located on the Sunshine Coast?

Calisthenics Buderim is a not-for-profit community-based dance and performance club located in Buderim, Sunshine Coast. We train in local community halls across the region, making our classes accessible for families across the Sunshine Coast, including Buderim, Mooloolaba, Mountain Creek, and surrounding areas.

2. How do I sign up for calisthenics training in Buderim?

You can sign up directly on our website www.calisthenicsbuderim.com. While our main enrolment period is usually in December and January, Term 4 sign-on is also open for new families. This is a great opportunity for children to explore calisthenics, build skills and technique, and develop strength and conditioning before the new year. 

3. What age groups can join Calisthenics Buderim?

At Calisthenics Buderim, we welcome pupils from age 3 through to adults. Our classes are organised by age, making it easy for children to learn alongside their peers while enjoying a mix of abilities in each group. This ensures every performer is supported with the right balance of fun, challenge, and development.

Our age groups are:

  • Tinies: 3–7 years

  • Sub-Juniors: 8–10 years

  • Juniors: 11–13 years

  • Intermediates: 14–17 years

  • Seniors: 17+ years

  • Masters: 26+ years

4. Do you offer calisthenics classes for kids on the Sunshine Coast?

Yes! Our children’s programs start at age 3 and focus on fun, friendship, and developing coordination. As students grow, classes introduce more advanced skills in dance, gymnastics, flexibility, and performance.

5. What is calisthenics?

​Calisthenics is a unique Australian sport that blends dance, ballet, gymnastics, acrobatics, singing, acting, and performance. As a team-based activity, it helps build confidence, fitness, flexibility, and stage skills in a fun and supportive environment. Alongside team competitions, participants also have the opportunity to perform individually as a soloist or in a duo,

6. Do you have accredited coaches at Calisthenics Buderim?

Yes. All our coaches are qualified, accredited, and experienced in teaching calisthenics. Many of them have decades of experience, and all undergo regular training to provide safe, supportive, and inspiring classes.

7. Does Calisthenics Buderim compete?

As part of Calisthenics Queensland, our teams participate in both regional and state competitions each year. Pupils also have the chance to shine individually through solo, duo, and graceful events, as well as perform at local community showcases. Calisthenics is recognised as a national sport, offering pathways to compete not only at state and national levels, but also on the international stage.

8. How much do classes cost?

Our fees are kept affordable as we are a not-for-profit community club. Costs vary by age group, and families can take advantage of free trial classes and flexible payment plan options. We are also a registered FairPlay provider and accept FairPlay sports vouchers towards term fees. Fees cover more than just classes, they also include team competition entry, costume hire (up to six costumes), headpieces, and apparatus hire such as clubs, rods and aesthetic skirts.
